With decision No. 128/2014, the Regional Administrative Court of Lombardy ruled the annulment of the measure though which the Police authority of Milan had revoked a residence permit of a long-term resident in consideration of the fact that latter had not adequate financial resources available for an extended and continued period of time. The Regional Administrative Court ruled that the status of long-term resident is permanent. Therefore, the lack of sufficient incomes and inadequate contributions to the social security system, which may raise concerns about the ability of the social security system to face great immigration flows, cannot however be regarded as a valid legal basis for the revocation of the residence permit.
