Reporting Formats for Article 7 of the Convention on Cluster Munitions, 8 August 2012

The Italian initial Report follows the ratification of the Convention by Italy, in furtherance of  law No. 95/2011. Consistently with Article 9 of the Convention, Article 7 of law No. 95/2011  imposes penal sanctions (imprisonment between 3 and 12 years and fines between 258,000 and 516,000 Euro) on those found guilty of violating relevant provisions of the Convention. Other Report’s information concerns: stockpile and destruction programmes, the technical characteristics of  cluster munitions retained for the development of and training in cluster munitions detection, clearance or destruction techniques, the data of cluster munitions produced by Italy prior to entry into force of the Convention for it, and those currently owned or possessed. The form on international assistance reports the amount of Italian financial support to the UNDP capacity building activities in Lebanon.
