Decision of the Court of Appeal of Trieste, I Section, No. 553 of 22 July 2016

The Court of Appeal of Trieste confirmed the decision of the first instance recognizing the right of a Nigerian national to obtain international protection in Italy. The applicant had fled from Kano, his last place of residence in the country of origin, and then came to Italy through Libya. Based on the available information, the Kano region is theatre of repeated terroristic attacks by the organization named Boko Haram, which puts seriously at risk the civilians’ fundamental civil and political rights.
