This document, which complements the Compliance Report on Italy drafted by the GRECO in 2011 (Greco RC-II (2011) 1E), closed the Joint First and Second Evaluation Rounds as regards Italy. The GRECO noted that significant progress was made in the fight against corruption at the national level, including by ratifying the Civil Law Convention on Corruption and the Criminal Law Convention on Corruption of the Council of Europe, on the ground of law No. 110 of 2012. Moreover, and notwithstanding the fact that some gaps remain in national legislation, the newly adopted provisions for preventing and fighting corruption and illegality in public administration (law No. 190 of 2012) put the national legal framework in line, generally speaking, with the standards of the Council of Europe.
