Decision of the Court of Cassation, I Civil Section, No. 2398 of 29 October 2014

It is contrary to public order to recognize and execute in Italy a decision issued by an ecclesiastical court in 2009, which declared void a marriage dating back to 1987; and this because the marital relationship and the continued cohabitation of the two spouses is a legal value protected under Italian legislation.
