Italy has not yet fully implemented the recommendations sent to the Government in the previous evaluation round to remedy the gaps in Italian law. Although it has noted improvements in the fight against corruption (including through more stringent rules in party financing), GRECO has noticed shortcomings in the cases of corruption of public officials in other States, the delay in ratifying the 2003 Protocol to the Criminal Law Convention on Corruption and the proper implementation of the Framework Decision No. 2003/568/GAI.
