The Report outlines that the stricter national measures that Italy has adopted for CITES-listed species relate to trade, taking and possession (not however including transport), registering 4,000 seizures in the two years. Generally adequate the effectiveness of the Italian legislation implementing CITES, only partially with regard to the clarity of the legal obligations and consistency with the existing policy on wildlife management and use.
